Aooo Band Members, Anime Song and World Tour Dates

I first heard Aooo through the ending credits of the anime Witch Watch, and "Magic Is Spice" hooked me before I'd even finished the episode.
What surprised me more was learning about the four members behind that sound: a former rock-band frontwoman, two celebrated Vocaloid producers, and a bassist who's shared stages with YOASOBI at Coachella.
Here's who's actually in Aooo, how their anime tie-in blew up, and where to catch them on their first international tour dates.

Who Is Aooo? Meet the Japan Band's Four Members

Aooo is a four-member Japanese rock band formed in Tokyo in August 2023, playing its first live show that September at the famed Shibuya venue eggman.

The lineup is Riko Ishino (vocals, guitar, synthesizer), Surii, also styled "Threee" (guitar, backing vocals), Hikaru Yamamoto (bass, backing vocals), and Tsumiki (drums).

Ishino was previously the vocalist of the rock band Akai Kōen and idol group Idol Renaissance before starting Aooo, giving the band an already road-tested frontwoman.

Surii is one of Japan's best-known Vocaloid producers in her own right; her songs "Telecaster B-Boy" and "Ego Rock" have racked up well over 50 million views combined on YouTube, and she's also written for major artists like Ado.

Tsumiki is another acclaimed Vocaloid producer, behind hits including "Fonii," "Tokyo Shandy Rendezvous" (as part of the MAISONdes project), and Hoshimachi Suisei's "Bibbidebba," alongside her own roots as a drummer.

Bassist Hikaru Yamamoto brings serious résumé weight of her own, having worked as a touring and support musician for YOASOBI and Momoiro Clover Z, including performances at Coachella and Tokyo Dome.

The band's quirky name comes from something surprisingly simple: the members' blood types, one A and three Os, spelled out as "Aooo."

Aooo's Anime Connection: The Witch Watch Ending Theme Explained

A lot of Aooo's international audience found the band the same way I did: through anime.

Their song "Magic Is Spice" serves as the ending theme for the TV anime Witch Watch, putting Aooo's sound in front of a global streaming audience well beyond Japan's domestic rock scene.

The track later appeared on the band's second studio album, "Rooom," released June 3, 2026, which debuted at No. 3 on Japan's Oricon Daily Albums Chart.

That mix of rock songwriting chops and an anime-sized international platform is a big part of why Aooo keeps showing up in "who is this band" searches from listeners outside Japan.

All four members write and compose together, and "Rooom" leans into that range, moving between driving rock numbers and more retro, melodic pop moments across the tracklist.

Aooo World Tour 2026: Seoul, Taipei and Every Tour Date

Aooo's first-ever hall tour, "RINGRING," ran through the spring of 2026 and marked the band's first step onto international stages.

The domestic leg covered seven Japanese cities: Sapporo, Sendai, Tokyo, Nagoya, Osaka, Hiroshima, and Fukuoka.

From there, the tour crossed borders with dedicated one-man shows in Seoul, South Korea, and Taipei, Taiwan, giving overseas fans their first chance to see the band play a full headline set rather than a festival slot.

Coming just under three years after their first gig at a small Shibuya club, playing their own international dates is a genuine milestone for a band still early in its career.

With a growing overseas fanbase built on both anime and their own rock sound, Aooo's Seoul and Taipei shows look like the starting point for a bigger international presence rather than a one-off.
