BABYMETAL Members 2026: Who's In the Lineup Now?

I'll admit it, I came to BABYMETAL years late, and it took a friend forcing "Gimme Chocolate!!" on me before I understood what the fuss was about.
What I didn't expect was how much bigger they've gotten since: in 2025 they became the first all-Japanese-fronted group ever to crack the Billboard 200's Top 10, and 2026 is shaping up to be their biggest touring year yet.

Who Is In BABYMETAL Right Now? Meet the 2026 Lineup

BABYMETAL is a Japanese metal group currently made up of three performers: SU-METAL (Suzuka Nakamoto, born December 20, 1997), MOAMETAL (Moa Kikuchi, born July 4, 1999), and MOMOMETAL (Momoko Okazaki, born March 3, 2003).

The group originally debuted as a trio with SU-METAL, MOAMETAL, and a third member, YUIMETAL, blending idol-style vocals with full-on metal instrumentation, a combination nobody else was doing at the time.

YUIMETAL departed the group in October 2018, and BABYMETAL continued as a two-member unit for the next several years.

MOMOMETAL officially joined as the third member in April 2023, restoring the group to a trio and opening up a new era of the band's sound and live show.

As of 2026, all three members remain active, and the group continues to be managed by talent agency Amuse, the same agency that launched them back in 2010.

Metal Forth Deluxe Edition: Inside BABYMETAL's Billboard-Making Album

BABYMETAL's fifth studio album, "Metal Forth," came out on August 8, 2025, and it turned into a genuine milestone for the group.

The album debuted at No. 9 on the Billboard 200, making BABYMETAL the first all-Japanese-fronted group in history to reach the chart's Top 10.

Part of what made the album stand out internationally was its guest list: "Song 3" features Russian metalcore band Slaughter to Prevail, "From Me to U" pairs the group with American singer Poppy, and the earlier single "Ratatata" brought in German metal act Electric Callboy.

On June 26, 2026, BABYMETAL followed up with "Metal Forth (Deluxe Edition)" through Capitol Records, adding three live performances and two remixes, one from Major Lazer and one from Bring Me the Horizon's Jordan Fish, along with a limited zoetrope vinyl pressing.

That mix of crossover features and a major US label push is a big part of why Metal Forth found an audience so far outside Japan's usual metal or idol fanbase.

BABYMETAL 2026 World Tour: Every North and South America Date

Riding the momentum of Metal Forth, BABYMETAL is calling their 2026 run "The Biggest BABYMETAL Tour Ever," and the schedule backs that up.

The headline North American leg kicks off September 2, 2026, at Ball Arena in Denver, with support from Halestorm and VIOLENT VIRA.

The band also picked up a high-profile support slot, opening for My Chemical Romance on September 30 at Petco Park in San Diego.

From there, the tour heads south for BABYMETAL's South American dates in November and December, with shows in São Paulo, Buenos Aires, Santiago, and Lima, before wrapping up on December 12 in Mexico City.

For a band that started out playing to skeptical crowds who weren't sure whether they were watching an idol group or a metal band, headlining arenas across two continents in the same year as a Billboard Top 10 album is about as clear a sign as it gets that the joke stopped being a joke a long time ago.
